Azaggi Jewelry Talks with...

Who are you, Megan? Tell us a bit about yourself...

When I’m not blogging, I’m a graphic/web designer and programmer. In my off hours, I love to watch movies, get amazing deals on clothes and travel the world! I’ve checked a few international spots off my list including Italy, France, London, and Greece. My favorite place to go is London (I’ve been there 4 times since 2011!) but I’m looking forward to going to New Zealand and Australia in the near future. I’m also a huge Harry Potter and Disney fan and have visited the theme parks in Orlando a few times a year since 2014. I have an extensive Harry Potter collection that I’ve built throughout the years. It’s what I used to spend my money on before I bought tons of clothes.

I’m a picky eater but I love to cook Blue Apron meals. They’re helping me expand my horizons. I also have a habit of taking photos of my food and posting it on Instagram. It’s a cliche but I love it so who cares, right? (Right, Megan! Keep it up!)

It may also surprise you to know that I am SUPER shy. I may share photos of myself on the internet, but in real life, I’m very quiet and don’t like to be the center of attention. I’d prefer to sit on the sidelines and watch the action.

How did you get into fashion blogging?

I first found out about fashion blogging after reading an article about Jane Aldrige from Sea of Shoes in Teen Vogue in 2009.
After that, I decided I wanted to start my own but wasn’t going to share photos of myself because I was too shy. It started off as an inspiration blog and eventually, I branched out and started sharing my own outfits.

Any advice to the new bloggers out there?

Don’t get into it for the freebies or the money. That will come with time (or not) but if you have no real passion for blogging and sharing your thoughts with readers it will get old very fast and become a chore. Do it because you love it and want a creative outlet. I would still blog even if no one else read it because I use it like a diary of what I wore.

Do you wear jewelry? What type of jewelry do you wear regularly?

I can always be found wearing a ton of rings. I pretty much have a ring per finger at all times. I also love necklaces and collect pieces with special meaning to me. Sometimes that means my favorite animals, others may be something that reminds me of a friend or loved one. I’m a little too lazy for bracelets, especially since they get in the way while I’m typing, but I still have a small collection.

Would you give our readers any advice on wearing jewelry?

You can never wear too many rings! A lot of people layer their necklaces, but I layer rings. I find rings are the easiest piece of jewelry to wear multiples of. They can be simple, or make a statement and they don’t have to match your outfit. Plus, you don’t have to worry about them getting tangled around each other. And, if Phoebe Buffay can wear a ton of rings, so can you! (Ha! We love this!)

What is your everyday
style?

My everyday style uniform is very simple. I’m a jeans-and-a-sweater gal but like to inject some personality with my shoes and accessories. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll throw on a blazer as well. I have quite the collection that doesn’t get as much wear as it used to.

How do you dress up for special occasions?

On special occasions, I also keep it simple. Surprise, surprise. It’s usually a dress with some killer heels and jewelry. If the dress is printed or an interesting silhouette, I’ll wear a simple piece, like the Minimalist Spike necklace. When wearing a simple dress I go with a statement necklace and larger earrings. It’s all about balance.

What is your favorite Azaggi piece?

There are so many great pieces available at Azaggi, but I’d have to say my favorite is the Round Crescent Moon necklace because it’s simple and has personal meaning to me. It’s definitely a piece that I can wear with almost anything in my closet.

Recently, Megan wrote a post about necklace layering with Azaggi Jewelry. Beautiful!
